A few short notes on the cuts made yesterday.:

• Rex Ryan liked Britt Davis coming into training camp but he proved absolutely nothing through the preseason. He won't be missed after his short stay on the team.
• Jack Simmons is another player who had some potential to make this team coming into the preseason. However, a dropped TD pass doomed him and cemented his fate as a preseason cut.
• The most surprising move coming out yesterday was that the Jets will keep Danny Woodhead on the 53 man roster. Woodhead earned the spot after rushing for over 150 years in the 4th and final preseason game. However, there is a lot of speculation that Woodhead was only kept on the roster because the Jets knew that he would never make it through waivers and onto the practice squad. For now, the Jets will carry 4 RB's (Jones, Washington, Greene, Woodhead) as well as FB Tony Richardson. My prediction: Danny Woodhead will be cut or moved to the practice squad either before the start of the season or upon the return of Shaun Ellis and Calvin Pace.
