Mark Sanchez will sit this week in favor of Kellen Clemens. I missed the Rex Ryan press conference but he stated that he made the decision in the best interest of Sanchez and he thinks that giving him another week of rest is the best move.
The Sanchez press conference is a completely different story. Sanchez was extremely disappointed and felt like he could play this week. He hasn't practiced all week but didn't see the benching coming. He commented about his sliding ability by saying that he needs to be smarter and needs to protect himself by throwing the ball away or getting out of bounds. He said that he would love to play and help the team but understands that it's Rex's decision.
This move should prompt the Jets to run the ball 40-50 times and keep the ball out of Clemens hands. If he throws the ball more than 15 times in this game I will be extremely surprised. More details will come about game strategy in the game review coming up soon.
